The Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce (HJCC) has announced the names of the new board members for fiscal year 2016-2017.   Their term will start on July 1, 2016, and run through June 30, 2017.

Dave Erdman, Chair of the Board, is committed to supporting HJCC’s mission of “Members Supporting Members” and its legacy of promoting Hawaii’s businesses and economic growth through improved cross-cultural relations.  In his welcome message on the HJCC website, Dave focuses on “Growth, Diversity, Advocacy, and Leadership” as the cornerstones to his term as Chair.  His education in East Asian studies and Travel Industry Management, combined with professional sales and marketing experience prior to starting PacRim Marketing Group, Inc. 26 years ago, then PRTech, LLC. in 2004, and PacRim Marketing Tokyo, KK. in 2006, make him uniquely suited to continue the legacy of the HJCC in coordination with other board members. 

The incoming board will be recognized at the July 12 Annual Inauguration luncheon and Generational Awards, held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort.  At that event, the Sasaki Family, which has successfully run Conrad Enterprises for generations will be honored alongside the new Chair of the Board.  Guest speakers include Mark Dunkerley, president and chief executive officer of Hawaiian Airlines, Inc. and Hawaiian Airlines Holdings, Inc.

Established in 1900, the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce is one of Honolulu’s major business organizations, representing a cross-section of the city’s businesses, industries and professions. With a pacific-wide view of business and economic development, the Chamber serves as a catalyst for opportunities and seeks solutions to business and community issues for the betterment of Hawaii.
