Pacrim Joins Team On New Retail Project In Tokyo FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 21, 2007 Contact: David Erdman (949-4592, ext. 833) ![]() RETAIL CENTER AT ICSC CONVENTION IN LAS VEGAS MAY 21- TO 23 The PARADOX Project, named for Harajuku's paradoxical mix of traditional yet trendy and serene yet exciting surroundings, is a commercial development for retail, restaurant, and service industry businesses. Its location-near Harajuku's original Imperial rail station, the popular Yoyogi Park and Meiji Jingu Shrine, and Omotesando Avenue (Tokyo's version of Paris' Champs-Elys'ees)-attracts an estimated 58,000 pedestrians daily. The project's concept is to include a Fashion Court atrium and a one-of-a-kind World Clock that will draw eyes upward through the building's center and toward upper and lower level shops and restaurants. Its upper floors will provide scenic views of the adjacent Yoyogi Park and Meiji Jingu Shrine through glass windows, and will feature a roof top garden. The building will be highly visible during the day and night from Yoyogi Park, passing trains, and surrounding areas. The PARADOX Project, being positioned as the Top of a Hill in Harajuku, also will be seen by the more than 140,000 people who use the Harajuku train station-Tokyo's busiest-daily. ChaneyBrooks, Hawaii, is seeking interested American anchor tenants beginning May 2007 and will take final agreements from all tenants in September 2008. Construction is scheduled to start in October 2007 with a tentative opening date of May 2009. Architectural renderings of the project will be on display at the ICSC Convention's ChainLinks Booth S266, S276 Q Street (South Hall).
