Honolulu--Honolulu-based PacRim Marketing Group, Inc. has tailored its successful on-line Japanese language reservations system--JpRES--to the hotel industry. Turtle Bay Resort became the first resort in Hawaii to install the system, which was originally developed over an eight-month period for Mandara Spa at Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa at Kalia Tower. JpRES, which works as a secure booking engine attached to a company's web site, uses Japanese prompts for the consumer in Japan, but delivers reservation information directly to the property in English. The response from the on-property English-speaking reservations agent is automatically translated and delivered on-line back to the consumer in Japanese. "This works well for reservations departments that don't have a full staff of Japanese natives to handle all aspects of requests and confirmations," said Dave Erdman, president and CEO of PacRim Marketing. "Companies that have English-only reservations web sites or no reservations systems can now greatly enhance their business opportunities by offering Japanese clients easy to use, customer friendly, on-line reservations options." Mandara Spa at Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa at Kalia Tower, which has been using JpRES for almost a year, has seen an increase in revenue from the service, with bookings fluctuating from between five thousand to nine thousand dollars a month, according to Judy Hollister, the Spa's resident manager. "Operationally, the service works phenomenally," Hollister said. Alex Doyle, director of marketing at Turtle Bay Resort, said the service is highly personalized, easy to navigate, and mirrors Turtle Bay Resort's English-speaking web site. "Although JpRES is a booking engine attached to Turtle Bay's web site, PacRim staff is completely integrated with the Turtle Bay staff so the Japanese consumer will get some very personalized service." If there is a special request, PacRim Marketing Group--via its JpRES Concierge Service--offers reservations support services, with the help of its bi-lingual travel industry professionals. Responses are coordinated between the Japanese consumer and Hawaii-based property in thirty-six hours or less. Fees for the on-line bi-lingual reservations service are based on a percentage of the reservations' booking fees. For JpRES Concierge Services, there is a monthly fee. PacRim Marketing Group, Inc.
